I finished my NGO internship on April 30th. It was a great experience coz not only cud i start what i always wanted 2 do....but also accomplish a few deeds...like website development!...and documentary making!!!!(ahem!) and being treated as a media person!! ;)
and not to forget the Fantabulous Silver Anniversary of my parents' Wedding!!oh! it was a great party!
The NGO i am now a part of is called SAMAVESH! it is an organisation which works in the field of development and governance as a whole...and guess what???They too have a firm belief in convergence!!!bah.. but no bah!! Led by a very enthusiastic, charming and stubborn hansome gentleman by the name Mr. Anwar Jafri, SAMAVESH works within communities in different parts of MP to help the over-all development of all its segments. I worked with Rakhi di, Maushami di, Anindita (A graet Symbi-ite), Aruna ma'm, Thakur, Ajit ji, Amit sir, Syag ji, Tripathi ji and Raja! They are all very likeable people, dedicated towards threir work and never complaining! Earlier when I met them, I thought that they are just busy at that moment of time and wouldn't have much work to do otherwise. However, it took me only the next day or two to realise that- that is the way they are!!! The kind of dedication and vigour with which they work surprised me! They know the name of each and every child studying in their schools across MP and his/her progress; just as well as the nature and work of the women sarpanches whom they train and help! THAT is reaching out to the grass-root levels!!!
Hats-off to SAMAVESH! :P
